7317 Internal Verifiers Award for further information contact Wendy MelvinV1: Conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process Background The revised Internal Verifiers Award came into effect on 1st September 2002, replacing the D34. The Employment National Training Organisation has devised the Learning and Development standards and the Internal Verifier Award forms part of a suite of qualifications at NVQ level 4 that meets the future requirements of the training and development industry. The V1 unit is appropriate for those internal verifiers, whose role involves evaluating the internal assessment process, monitoring and reviewing internal assessment audit systems and carrying out related internal verification or moderation activities. To achieve this qualification internal verifier candidates must be carrying out internal verification practices with an accredited centre for competence based awards. Required Activities

Training programme Candidates can either attend a one-day training programme before carrying out assessment on the internal verification process. Or, if no programme is available one to one training will be provided prior to constructing their portfolio. Internal verifier candidates must have at least two assessors within their team and be able to demonstrate effective operation of a centre’s internal verification procedure. Customised programmes can be devised for Assessment Centres and internal verification teams. Assessment and Verification Internal verifier candidates are required to construct a portfolio of evidence demonstrating their competence against the V1 Internal Verifier standard. Further requirements include evidence of the internal verifier candidate having one professional discussion with their assessor, two written assignments and three observed assessments.
